MagicCube5D

In the spirit of taking things too far, here is a fully functional 5-dimensional analogue of Rubik's cube.

"In that blessed region of Four Dimensions, shall we linger on the threshold of the Fifth, and not enter therein?"

- Edwin Abbott, Flatland

Feature Notes

These might be helpful as you get going with the puzzle.

The MagicCube5D
Hall of Insanity

Believe it or not, MagicCube5D is solvable!  The solvers list is short, but we hope it will grow, so give it a shot and send us your log file when you make it.

Permutations

The 3D cube has 43252003274489856000 permutations.  How many do the various 5D cubes have?

MagicCube4D

MagicCube5D is based on many of the concepts and ideas from MagicCube4D.  You wouldn't necessarily have to solve that puzzle first, but it sure would help!  Also, the 4D Cubing Group has had much discussion about MC5D.  Joining and/or searching it is a good way to get further information about this puzzle.  MagicCube3D is another good way to try to understand all this by dimensional analogy.
